Head coach of the Nepali national men’s football team, Matt Ross, has officially resigned from his position, according to the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).
ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai confirmed that the football governing body has received Ross’s resignation.
Ross, who was appointed in March 2025 on a one-year contract, stepped down before completing his full term. The reason for his resignation has not been disclosed by ANFA or Ross himself.
The Australian coach had taken charge of the national side just ahead of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers third-round matches.
During his tenure, Nepal played seven international matches, securing one win, two draws, and four losses. His debut as head coach was marked by a victory over Singapore, but the team failed to register another win afterward.
ANFA is expected to announce an interim or new head coach soon as Nepal prepares for its upcoming international fixtures.
