Nawalparasi West–1, Nepal — Political activities have intensified in Nawalparasi West–1 ahead of the upcoming House of Representatives election, with senior Nepali Congress leader Devendra Raj Kandel describing candidate Binod Chaudhary as a “national brand” and a major development opportunity for the region.
Addressing a massive election rally on Sunday, Kandel claimed there is a strong public wave in favor of the Nepali Congress. He emphasized that Nawalparasi West–1 has historically been a Congress stronghold and said Chaudhary’s national-level experience, network, and leadership capacity could significantly boost local development.
“Binod Chaudhary is an established national brand of Nepal. It is a matter of pride for West Nawalparasi to have such a personality. The people of this constituency must now transform his experience and access into concrete development outcomes,” Kandel stated.

Thousands of party workers and supporters participated in a large motorcycle rally led by Binod Chaudhary. The rally began at Chaupata Open Ground and passed through Tribeni Chowk, Mahalwari, Rupauliya, Belatari, Bijaynagar, Guthi Prasauni, Paklihawa, Basahiya, Mujahawa, and Dhanandawa, demonstrating strong grassroots support in Nawalparasi West–1.
Lumbini Minister Devkaran Kalwar Expresses Confidence in Congress Victory
Speaking at the same program, Lumbini Province Minister for Forests and Environment Devkaran Kalwar expressed confidence in the Nepali Congress securing victory in the constituency. He called on party members to remain united and work collectively to ensure Chaudhary’s win in the upcoming parliamentary election.
Binod Chaudhary Reaffirms Commitment to Development
Addressing supporters, Binod Chaudhary thanked party cadres and voters for their support. He reiterated that development remains his top priority and said that the foundation for regional growth has already been laid.
“The groundwork for development in this constituency has been established. Now, we must move forward together to complete it,” Chaudhary said.
As the election date approaches, political competition in Nawalparasi West–1 continues to intensify, with major parties accelerating campaign activities across the region.
